A Reliable Tooth Replacement Solution

More than 36 million Americans are missing all of their teeth. However, researches have found an impressive success rate among patients who have chosen to rebuild their smiles with dental implants.*

For your convenience, Dr. Roger Parkes and Dr. R. Clarke Stewart are able to place and restore implants in-house at our practice, eliminating the need for outside specialists. To help our patients receive the vital dental care they need, our administrative team can also conduct a complimentary insurance evaluation. During this time, we can determine the extent of your insurance coverage and review our CareCredit® financing options to assist with out-of-pocket costs.

At our practice, we can perform the All-on-4 technique, securing a full dental arch on only four strategically placed dental implants.

What Are Implant-Supported Dentures?

Implant-supported dentures are designed to repair your smile after significant tooth loss in the upper or lower jaw. Unlike a traditional denture, which rests directly against your gums, this type of restorative device is supported by dental implants, which are surgically implanted into your jawbone. Traditional implant-supported dentures require sufficient jawbone strength to support implant posts. In cases where jawbone strength is inadequate, patients can undergo a bone grafting procedure, or may be eligible for an All-on-4 implants treatment.

All-on-4 dental implants require only four strategically placed implants to support a denture, making use of available jawbone tissue. In most cases, dentures can be restored the same day, providing the most cost-effective and efficient solution to replacing missing teeth.

The Treatment Process

During your consultation, your doctor can perform a thorough examination using x-rays or other advanced images to determine if you are a candidate for implant-supported dentures. To qualify for this type of restoration, it is imperative that you are in good overall health, so as not to compromise your recovery or the success of your dental implants.

Your Procedure

Once candidacy has been determined, we can schedule your dental implant surgery. After administering anesthesia, your doctor can make an incision to access the jawbone. He can then insert the implants directly into the jawbone. Whereas All-on-4 dentures require only four strategically placed implants, traditional dentures generally require six to eight implants in order to provide a secure foundation.

For your convenience, we are able to place and restore implants in-house, eliminating the need for outside specialists.

Recovery

Patients will then undergo a four to six month healing process, known as osseointegration, to ensure the posts successfully fuse with the jawbone. Once you have fully recovered, we can take impressions of your smile, which will be used to design your customized restoration. While your denture is being manufactured, your doctor can provide you with a temporary restoration to assist with dental function.

Placement

Once your denture is complete, we can remove the temporary restoration and check to ensure that your final prosthesis fits comfortably in your smile. At this time, we can make any necessary adjustments. If no modifications are needed, we can then affix your denture to the dental implants, revealing your new and improved smile.
