Replacing a single tooth with a dental implant costs an average of $2,200 at our practice versus a nationwide average of $3,100

*According to the American Dental Association’s Health Policy Institute cost survey, as reported by Forbes

At Periodontal Associates of Jackson, the average cost to replace one tooth with an implant is $2,200, and replacing an arch of teeth with an All-on-4® implant-supported denture is $12,000, much less than the industry average costs for these procedures.

Because implant dentistry treatments are highly specialized for each patient, prices can vary. Your implant doctor can determine a more accurate figure during a consultation at our Jackson, MS, office. The total cost of your implant treatment may be influenced by the following factors:

Dental Implants Cost Factors

Number of Implants

It takes a single dental implant, abutment, and implant-supported crown to replace one missing tooth. However, if you are missing an entire dental arch of natural teeth, it will take an implant-supported denture, six to eight implants, and the same number of abutments to restore your smile. While using a greater number of implants and larger restorations will increase the cost of your dental care, you can rest assured that you are making a long-term investment in the health and function of your smile regardless of how many teeth you are replacing.

Preparatory Procedures

Some patients can qualify for implants right away, while others require preparatory dental care. If you have been missing natural teeth for an extended period of time, you may have experienced some degree of jawbone deterioration. Dental implants anchor into the jawbone, so there must be sufficient jaw tissue present for maximum stability. We can perform a bone graft or sinus lift to restore lost jaw tissue at our Jackson, MS, practice. Preparatory dentistry will increase how much your dental implants cost, but it can make all the difference for a successful treatment.

Sedation

Placing a dental implant is not especially painful. It typically takes nothing more than local anesthetic to complete the procedure. However, if you have dental anxiety, sensitivity, or difficulty sitting for long periods of time, sedation can make your experience comfortable and relaxing. Some patients who need to replace a full mouth of teeth with implants and dentures opt to receive sedation in order to help the procedure pass quicker. Choosing to receive sedation during your implant surgery will increase your total costs, but the peace of mind it can afford you is priceless.

I had a great experience with Dr. Parkes, and his staff. They made me feel like family. They were comforting, kind, caring and patient. They took time explaining the procedure and answering any questions that I had and gave a very good goodie bag. After my procedure they escorted me to my person that was driving me home and explained what needed to be done. They went above and beyond. I greatly appreciate them and would recommend them to anyone needing implants, have gum disease or and periodontal work.

Insurance and Financing

Smiling woman paying for dental implants on a credit card
Dental implants can provide many benefits, but they are not covered by basic dental insurance plans. While your plan may contribute to some aspects of your treatment, such as basic restoration options and preliminary periodontal care, it probably will not cover the cost of the implants. Our doctors can work with you to create a CareCredit® financing plan that allows you to make manageable monthly payments as you enjoy the benefits of chewing, speaking, and smiling with total confidence.

How We Build Your Quote During Your Consultation, We Will:

Examine Your Oral Health

When you visit our office in Jackson, MS, our periodontists will perform a thorough evaluation of your oral health. We will identify any issue, such as diseased gums or an infected tooth, which may require treatment before we can proceed with dental implants.

Determine Your Jawbone Density

We will use advanced scanning technology to measure the density of your jawbone. We will use this information to determine whether you require a dental bone graft before your implant surgery.

Discuss Your Implant Options

Based on the number and location of your missing teeth, you may have options regarding how many implants you'll receive and where the implants will be placed. Our doctors will thoroughly explain every available option, and they will help you understand the cost of every option. If you need to replace a complete dental arch, we may suggest All-on-4® dental implants.

Discuss Your Restoration Options

We will explain the different options for your crown, bridge, or denture. Different dental materials can be used to make your prosthetic teeth, and certain materials cost more than others.

Take a Look at Your Insurance

Finally, if you have dental insurance, we will conduct a complimentary insurance evaluation. While basic plans don't cover dental implants, your insurer may cover certain costs associated with implant dentistry. We will identify any available coverage and help you maximize your benefits.
At the end of this initial consultation, we will be able to provide you with a quote for your implant treatment. You will leave our office with a complete understanding of the cost of dental implants. Patients from Clinton, Ridgeland, and Jackson, MS, can contact us right now to request a consultation.

See Dental Implants in Action

Our periodontists place implants directly in the jawbone. A few months later, we can place abutments on the implants. Finally, we can attach dental restorations to the abutments, filling gaps in your smile and restoring your ability to chew.

Are Dental Implants Really Worth It?

In our opinion, absolutely. Dental implants do more than just restore your smile—they keep your jawbone healthy and can prevent a range of other dental issues.

Your tooth roots stimulate your jaw every time you bite down. When teeth are missing, the jaw begins to atrophy from lack of stimulation, which can cause your existing teeth to shift and your facial appearance to change. By replacing missing tooth roots with dental implants and missing teeth with implant-supported restorations, you can prevent jawbone atrophy and the issues that come with it, which are often more expensive to treat than receiving dental implants in the first place.

Let Us Show You the Value of Implants in Person

During a consultation at our office in Jackson, MS, Dr. Parkes or Dr. Stewart can patiently explain all of your questions about dental implants, the factors that will influence the cost of your treatment, and why they are the right dentists for the job. We understand that dental implants are a significant investment on most budgets, and we want you to make an informed decision.

Patient education is an important part of our practice, and we want you to feel excited and confident about choosing to repair your smile with dental implants. If you live in Clinton, Ridgeland, or nearby and have been considering implants, there has never been a better time to get in touch with our practice. Frequently Asked Questions About the Cost of Dental Implants

Does dental insurance cover implants?

A dental implant itself is not covered under basic dental insurance plans. But when you choose to use an implant to replace a lost tooth, other parts of treatment do qualify for coverage under many plans. For example, if you are replacing one tooth with an implant-supported crown, your policy will probably contribute to the cost of the crown. It will probably also cover some of the preparatory treatments you need, such as gum disease treatment. Some plans may even contribute to bone grafting. Our staff will work directly with your insurance company to secure the best possible coverage.

Does a full implant-supported denture require paying for 32 implants—one for each missing tooth?

No! It's a common misconception that replacing teeth with implants requires one implant per missing tooth. However, it's important to understand that a denture on the upper or lower arch can be supported with as little as four implants. This is called the All-on-4 method, and it costs just $12,000 at our practice.

I've seen really cheap prices advertised for dental implants elsewhere. Why shouldn't I choose those providers?

As with any other product or service, if you see a price that's too good to be true, it probably is. It's very possible that these "bargain" prices are made possible by hiring inexperienced dentists, using subpar hardware, and cutting other corners that could eventually cost you much more than simply choosing a reputable provider in the first place. Our practice doesn't just place implants and send you on your way. We take great care to provide results that give you maximum benefits, and can also provide ongoing care to make sure your smile remains healthy and comfortable for years to come.
